This summer escape the heat of the Gulf and experience temperatures that average just 27C. When most of the region hides from the intensity of the scorching summer sun, Salalah – the land of frankincense – wears a mantle of mist and lush greenery.
Salalah is Oman’s southernmost city. It is situated on a fertile plain amongst lush coconut groves and banana plantation, set against the dramatic mountain backdrop of Jebal Dhofar. Views from the escarpment are breathtaking. White sand beaches fringe the plain in the south, stretching for miles and miles along the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean. The city has a bustling business district with shops, restaurants, coffee shops and hotels.
